In Over Your Head

“In Over Your Head”, ToeHead Illustration Debut

New ToeHead Is Over His Head!

The latest piece in my ToeHead series is called, “In Over Your Head”.  This sketch has been in my sketchbook for a while now and it’s only now that I’ve found the right piece of wood for it. Reclaimed from the scrap heap at Columbus Idea Foundry, this piece of wood had just the right wood grain to give just the right added emotion to the piece. Stick Em' Up!

Antique Barn Siding Becomes ToeHead

Check out my latest ToeHead, “Stick ‘Em Up!”

This new ToeHead was made from a piece of reclaimed barn siding that is easy over a hundred years old. After cutting the slat into 3 sections (so I can use it for multiple art pieces), I transferred “Stick ‘Em Up!” using an old school data projector.

As you can probably gather, it was for this reason precisely that I decided to make a much needed addition to my work space: “The Working Work Table”! Check out the gallery below to see the latest addition.

Absolute: Separation (detail)

“Absolute: Separation”

New piece, “Absolute: Separation”

Here is my latest oil painting in the “Absolute” series.  It’s painted on a selection of wood that I’ve reclaimed from an 1800’s upright piano top. You may have seen the other half of the piano top featured as a shelf in my furniture category. After sanding and resurfacing, this piece still has plenty of character that shows through. Feel free to check out my other paintings in this series here.
