The 1st ToeHead Ever! "Me and Tea"
The 1st ToeHead Ever! “Me and Tea”

Thanks to the continued support of my clients and their positive things to say about my work, the ToeHeads went from being just an idea in a sketchbook to a globally sold set of illustrations.

At the time of this post, the ToeHeads have more than 600 illustrations in their family and have since branched into a second division called the SnackHacks. There are over 300 illustrations that are drawn out and have yet to be made! Until this year, all of this has been done from the simple use of auxiliary spaces, galleries, and strangely enough… Facebook. Read on for more.

NEW “Absolute: Privilege”, Painting On Cherry Wood

“Absolute: Privilege”

By Daric Gill

Today I’m introducing my latest fine art painting. It’s called “Absolute: Privilege” and features an antique scratch awl, two pieces of ripped paper, and a leaf from a blooming cherry blossom. The piece is painted on reclaimed cherry wood and is mounted into a frame from the 1800’s.  All of the hardware on the back is hand-made specifically for this piece. Totaling around 17″ tall by 15 1/4″ wide (framed), the piece is actually a rounded rectangle recessed into a the carved out rectangle in the back of the frame. This space was where the original photograph and glass were mounted.

If you’re that artist who wants to overcome this anxiousness, this blog is for you.

Solar Powered Soul: An Artist’s Inspirational Outing

A Sunny Disposition

I’m writing this entry from a bench in the woods. The bench, nestled in front of a finch filled thicket, is marked with a dedication plaque honoring a local scout troop. It’s sunny and I’m inspired. Well, let’s just say the woods is about as woodsy as one can hope to find less than a mile from an apartment in the city. But it’ll do. Here is a little insight into how a little sun makes for a perfect storm… the good kind.
