The 1st ToeHead Ever! “Me and Tea”

Thanks to the continued support of my clients and their positive things to say about my work, the ToeHeads went from being just an idea in a sketchbook to a globally sold set of illustrations.

At the time of this post, the ToeHeads have more than 600 illustrations in their family and have since branched into a second division called the SnackHacks. There are over 300 illustrations that are drawn out and have yet to be made! Until this year, all of this has been done from the simple use of auxiliary spaces, galleries, and strangely enough… Facebook. Read on for more.

After the success of my online storefront for my  fine arts work, I’ve taken the next step for Daric Gill Studios and created a newly separated online store for the ToeHeads + SnackHacks.

The 1st ToeHead was intended as a table inlay.

Trained in the fine arts, I had never entertained the idea of engaging the illustration side of my career. Originally, it was a concept for a fun table inlay. The table was never made and the initial sketch sat for a couple years in my sketchbook before I did anything with it. Over the next few years my friend, family, and clients all encouraged me to do something with it.

For some time I had been stock piling reclaimed lumber cut-offs. One day, I decided that they’d make a great surface for these little illustrations that I had come up with. The rest is as they say, history.

Click here to check out all of the available illustrations all in one spot. Thanks again for all of the support over the past few years!

Cheers,

Daric Gill
