Today I’m introducing my newest oil painting in the “Absolute” series, “Absolute: Denial”. Like its predecessors, this is framed and painted on entirely reclaimed wood. This new piece pushes my normal use of chroma intensity a new height. I’m actually quite fond of the result. Scroll through for process slides, including the dresser from which the wood has come.
The newest ToeHead made its début on TV this week. It was my pleasure to join fellow artist, Jay C. Moffett & WTTE Fox 28’s enthusiastic Good Day Columbus hosts in part to promote my artwork & Ohio Art League’s annual fund-raising event. Here is my latest oil painting in the “Absolute” series. It’s painted on a selection of wood that I’ve reclaimed from an 1800’s upright piano top. You may have seen the other half of the piano top featured as a shelf in my furniture category. After sanding and resurfacing, this piece still has plenty of character that shows through.
