Absolutely A Bolder Painting
Today I’m introducing my newest oil painting in the “Absolute” series, “Absolute: Denial”. Like its predecessors, this is framed and painted on entirely reclaimed wood. This new piece pushes my normal use of chroma intensity a new height. I’m actually quite fond of the result. Scroll through for process slides, including the dresser from which the wood has come.

- “Absolute: Denial” (detail): Oil on reclaimed panel. 12 1/2″ x 12″. 1.12.14.
Another fascinating work of art. Great job!

Seriously, Daric! Phenomenal! Again! I want to sneak in with scissors and cut that tight little string and read what is written inside….. what is begging to come out! I think there is more to it. I seem to read more into things…. always searching….

Thanks! Actually, you’re pretty spot on with your interpretation. Particularly in emotion. The idea of binding the paper in attempts to keep it from reaching full potential …. And all it would take is cutting the string to release it… Yep, you hit it right on the head. 😉
