If one was to pay close enough attention, they may see seasonal shifts in the Absolute painting series that run in tandem with when the work was created. Of course, this is an obvious side effect when using natural elements as subject matter. However, I’ve also found that this seasonal shift can give a rich conceptual tie-in that grows as the body of work progresses. Read on to find why this piece is different.

“Absolute: Tie” at The Schumacher Gallery

The Schumacher Gallery is one of Columbus’ most hidden gems. Their massive donor-based collection is tucked comfortably away on the 4th floor of Capital University’s Blackmore Library. Among contemporary names like Warhol, Chagall, Nevelson, Picasso, and Calder, the public can also see a wide array of African, Inuit, Asian, and European greats. Columbus Dispatch Features My Art & Schumacher Gallery Exhibition

by Daric Gill

Dispatch_Schumacher2I’m pleased to share that “Elements”, a group show at the Schumacher gallery, was reviewed in today’s Columbus Dispatch newspaper. My work was featured both in the physical paper and the online version. It was also a nice surprise to see my work sharing a spread with my long-time friend & former boss, the late Denny Griffith. A giant thank you to Nancy Gilson who wrote the article.

Schumacher Gallery Brings Absolutes Home

by Daric Gill

It’s my great pleasure to announce that six of my Absolute paintings will be on display at the Schumacher Gallery as part of their Elements Exhibition. National circulation has recently kept my Absolute paintings from my home state of Ohio. It will be nice to show them to a home crowd again. This exhibition features a pool of talented artists and can be seen among a private collection that contains a wonderfully large number of international heavy-hitters in the art world.

Exhibition Dates:
January 18 – March 23

Meet-the-Artists Opening Reception:
Friday, January 22, 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.
