We’ve all seen photos of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, watched movies of the ancient Colosseum in Rome, & stared at the brush strokes in a poster of Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night”. But what do they sound like? I’m exceptionally happy to introduce, “The Memory Machine: Sound“, a motion-activated sound sculpture that plays a collection of recordings, taken during my travels to some of the world’s most interesting places.

For the next year, you can find this piece at the renowned Center of Science and Industry Museum. Let your curiosity listen along, as you go behind a waterfall in Canada, stand inside a giant clock tower in a German castle, & hear the claps of a thunderstorm in the snow-covered mountains of Switzerland.

Please join me for The Absolutes: Big Small Stories, a solo exhibition at the Massillon Museum this summer. This show combines selected works that span the whole breadth of this series. It also includes several pieces created on location in Europe, including a painting fresh off the plane from Dresden, Germany. Located in northeast Ohio, MassMu is a local art and history museum. It has significant collections of photography; costumes and textiles; china, glass, and pottery; domestic appliances; and circus memorabilia. The museum belongs to the national museum advocacy conglomerate American Alliance of Museums and has had backing from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) & Blue Star Museums, the Ohio Arts Council (OAC), and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) & Museums For All.
