The Living Machines is a series of interactive electronic & robotic installations that explore the emotional nuances of living organisms through light, motion, &/or sound. These robotic installations celebrate the immense value in what I call our ‘soft functions of being’. For example: excitement, extraversion, shyness, persistence, nostalgia, the ability to dream, etc.
Using a broader interpretation of biomimicry, these machines champion the often overlooked power of our social, behavioral, creative, & psychological character. They showcase the importance of the less quantifiable aspects of living design rather than pursuing some form of industrial advantage.
