‘Art For Life’ Exhibit Walkthrough At Pizzuti Collection

The Pizzuti Collection Displays ‘Art For Life’ Artwork

by Daric Gill

Pizzuti Collection 2If you are familiar with the Pizzuti Collection in any way, you’ll know that they are a powerhouse in the world of contemporary art collections. Situated in the Short North Arts District next to the Goodale Park, the Pizzuti Collection museum houses a rotating collection of privately owned works of art from around the globe. This year they’ve partnered up  with the great people at Equitas Health for the biennial Art For Life benefit. Together they will present the 2016 Art for Life event and fund ventures that will support both AIDS research and youth arts education. I’ve taken part in this cause in the past, but I’m especially excited for this newly struck partnership and the added benefits it provides.

Ohio Art League 2016 Spring Juried Exhibition WalkThrough

Checking In At The OAL Spring Exhibit, Urban Arts Space

By Daric Gill

Exhibition duration: May 24 – July 9, 2016

OAL-Spring16-04After absorbing some sunshine for a bit at the Scioto Mile Riverside Park, I decided to take some time to absorb some culture at the OAL’s Spring Exhibition held at the OSU Urban Arts Space. Walking into the massive air-conditioned transformative space, I saw that my selected painting, “Absolute: Ignition” happens to greet patrons on their way in. It’s a relatively small painting, but prominently displayed and I was happy to see that it’s among the first pieces one sees upon entering.

The show is one of the best OAL exhibitions I’ve seen in years.  Viewers can gaze upon sculptures, paintings, photos, ceramics, video & electronics work, among others. Below are a few handfuls of images that represents what the show has to offer. There are a few gallery shots that didn’t make this article, for that I apologize. If you have the chance, I strongly urge you to visit the show by July, 9 ’16. Greatness can be seen!

I’m pleased to announce that my artwork has been selected for this year’s Art for Life benefit. It will be exhibited at the prestigious Pizzuti Collection Museum  August 6 – September 3, 2016, before landing at the Columbus Museum Of Art where it will be auctioned off in support of two worthy causes on September 24.

Every 2 years Equitas Health (formally ARC Ohio) mounts a dazzling gala and auction that raises funds  for HIV/AIDS research and advocacy services (among many other things). In what will certainly become a spectacular partnership, they have joined forces with one of my favorite contemporary art collections/nonprofits, the Pizzuti Collection. Together they will present the 2016 Art for Life event and fund ventures that will support both AIDS research and children’s arts education. I’ve donated to this cause in the past, but I’m especially excited for this newly struck partnership and the added benefits it provides.

My work will be on view at:
PIZZUTI COLLECTION
1ST Floor
632 N Park St
Columbus, OH 43215
AUGUST 6 – SEPTEMBER 3, 2016

The 2016 Art for Life event will take place September 24, 2016 at the newly opened Margaret M. Walter Wing of the Columbus Museum of Art. This will be the inaugural Art for Life event in the 50,000-square-foot modern art annex and “will feature important new work from artists from Ohio and around the country, as well provide access to regional and national art collectors.”
